Now the season has come to an end for the vast majority it is far easier for us to elaborate on the expansion of our youth structure without being undiplomatic whilst sides were still playing under another clubs name.

For 2023/24 a large number of sides will join Welling Town from the now dispanded K Sports Youth.

Our huge thanks must go to Rene Bennet (K Sports Chairman), as well as managers and parents Craig Stead and Byron Beard, who assisting in organising and making this happen and offering continued football in an environment so many children were comfortable with. This wouldn’t have happened without the three of you, so thank you, on behalf of myself, the club, and of course I am sure for the rest of the parents and children playing within the club(s). A thank you as well to the incoming managers at numerous age groups for being so supportive and understanding over a period of change that has, for many, understandbly previously been a worry.

In addition to this, expansion will include a further development side run in conjunction with the Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT). This side has applied to enter the Kent County Football League offering further development opportunities for the future.

For 2023/24 we have either already, or will be applying to, field sides at …

SCEFL – Men’s First Team
Kent County – Under 23 Development side
SCEFL Development – Under 23 Development side
Kent Youth League – 2 x U18, U16, U15, U14 and U13
Maidstone regional leagues – U16, 2 x U13, 3 x U10, 2 x U8, 2 x U7
and an U6 Saturday “boots camp” training group

These sides will play across a combination of sites in SE9/DA16 (Eltham/Welling), DA7 (Barnehurst), and ME20 (Aylesford/Ditton).

We therefore continue to welcome player enquiries from all locations in SE London, NW and Central Kent, for all youth ages above, as well as development players from ages 16-23 in particular, who can also discuss post-16 applications for their education requirements via the CACT partnership.

Players (or parents of under 16s) can enquire on the player tab on this link …

We also welcome conversations with further coaches and managers, or other sides wanting to join part of an exciting future. To be considered please email
